Tidung Island

Tidung Island is one of the island in Kepulauan Seribu (Thousand Islands) at Java Sea, Indonesia. It is a small island populated by about 4000 people. Tidung Island is surrounded by many small islands with beautiful corals for snorkeling and diving activities.

To get to the island, one can ride a boat from Muara Anke, North Jakarta or from the Port Muara Cituis, Tangerang. The traveling time from Muara Angke is about 2 1/2 hours. Once there in the island, the long journey is worth it. A crystal clear sea water and white sandy beach are waiting. A bicycle can be rented to tour the island. As for accommodation, many homestay are offered by the islander at a reasonable price.

To the east of Tidung island there is a small island called Small Tidung. The two islands are connected by a wooden bridge about 2 miles across a clear sea with stunning coral reefs and colorful fish. It is a wonderful experience and scenery to watch the sunrise or sunset from here. And to those brave hearts, jumping from a high section on the bridge is a must.
